Once, after a fight, Jay was in the bathroom. Linda could hear the rainy sound of him pissing. "Love is brutal. Don't you think?" She called out.

"What?"

"Don't you think love is brutal?"

He finished and walked out of the bathroom. His eyebrows and mouth stretched towards the corners of his face like they do when he is bewildered. He was thinking what to say.

"Hey I'm just one more adult trying to use the word anus as often as I can before I die," he said.

"You're brutal." She said.

"Will you forgive me?" he asked. He didn't seem sorry.

"Probably, yes." She said.
