Sigfreid never looked outside of the tank so he didn't notice Jay. Once Jay fed us and a piece of rice fell out of his beard and landed on Sigfreid's head. Sigfreid said wow and that's as close as he came to recognizing Jay. Jay moved in. They bought a bigger mattress and Jay started doing the laundry. They ate the most wonderful cookies anywhere. Jay drew faces on Linda's stomach and back with lipstick. He started touching her thighs. He constructed simple Spanish sentences for her. They watched talk shows. Linda made a tent out of her blankets on the mattress and hid in it when the stripper threw the chair at her mother and knocked the talk show host unconscious. Jay liked watching the flying furniture but went into the tent to humor Linda. They said I love you to each other in Spanish and lipstick and hoarse screaming voices that sounded hungry and like an earthquake.
